Pierced eye-glasses, would you wear them? An unusual approach to keeping your glasses from getting lost, just semi-permanently attach them to your face. These spectacles work thanks to a nose bridge piercing that allows frameless lenses to be attached via small magnets to the protruding metal. Designed by James Sooy and his metal working partner, Oliver Gibson, these avante guard glasses can easily be interchanged from prescription lenses to UV-protection lenses. The price of the piercing and barbell “jewelry” is reported to only be about $100 or less, plus the cost of frames. The details are still in the works, and the product is planned to be available to the body-mod masses soon. Imagine paring these hip, modern looking lenses with a pair of cosmetic colored contacts – especially a futuristic pair like the computer chip color contact lenses. The combination of “old” with “new” is so totally steampunk and is sure to get you noticed!
